Mauro Paes Corrêa
Information Security Specialist, SysAdmin, DevOp and IT Manager
I am Mauro Paes Corrêa, a specialist with multiple skills and author of the book "pfSense: The Ideal Guide for Beginners", the most read book in Brazil in its segment.
With a trajectory that began in 1998 in the Information Technology field, I have dedicated a large part of my career to technical teaching, working as a professor in fundamental disciplines such as Databases, Programming (Delphi, PHP, and Python), and Networks (Infrastructure in Linux, Windows, and FreeBSD environments). As an enthusiast of the IPv6 protocol, I manage my own Autonomous System (AS209338) for the development of personal projects, which range from modern infrastructures to the preservation of legacy systems and retro computing.
My work in public management is guided by excellence and innovation. In 2023 and 2024, I was recognized by the Court of Auditors of the State of Santa Catarina (TCE/SC) and the Instituto Rui Barbosa (IRB) as the best IT manager in the State. This distinction was a direct reflection of my work leading the administration of Urussanga, which reached the top of the state ranking in the I-GOV TI indicator, consolidating the municipality as a reference in technological governance.
In addition to technical and government work, I am the founder of BSDSul (FreeBSD Users Group of Southern Brazil) and co-founder of APTI/SC (Association of Technology Professionals in Public Administration of Santa Catarina), reinforcing my commitment to strengthening the technological and institutional community.
